2002 Touring Drifter

Chief is correct. The seat is an early harley I bought the pan off ebay for less than $ 40.00 everything else is custom. If you can weld  I will gladly send you close up pics.

I love the bike.  I have been searching for a passenger seat for my 2002 drifter 1500 and have only been able to find one from Corbin for $800 and heard it was uncomfortable.  Did you buy your seat somewhere or make it?  Any suggestions on where to find a passenger seat?

That's purely a custom seat... the way the drifter fender floats with the wheel you have to fabricate a bracket to secure to the frame... nothing on the fender. Its a lot of work. The springer seat isn't hard to find but its not something you can just bolt onto the drifter. AND, I have used corbins on my bikes for as long as I can remember. They are FIRM seats which I prefer. Others like more squishy seats which I find VERY uncomfortable - especially for long distance riding. I currently have corbins on both my drifter and my goldwing.

Went to school in the hudson valley ( CIA) and want my wife to see the Vanderbilt mansion. We plan to take backroads to Portland and will most likely have to take 295 to booth bay , I hate sitting in slow moving traffic on my bike. thanks for all the info.

I work on trains in Phoenicia, outside of Kingston on the Hudson so I'm very familiar with the area; I was brought up there.  Take 9 in either side of the highway up to the Albany area and then grab 7 East over the VT Green Mts. which turns into 101 through NH and over to the coast where I live.
This will give you a wonderful ride up the Hudson and through Southern VT and NH.
I'll show you around Portsmouth while you're here, if you'd like; great food on the water.
Next, your only real option is Rt. 1 (other than Rt 95 superhighway) up into ME.  It winds its way up to Boothbay Harbor past LL Bean in Freeport etc.  Lobster shacks all the way up with great chowder, clams, quohogs etc.
Warning: the coast of ME is traffic jam city right now; just back from the Kennebeck river two days ago and Rt. 1 is 30 mph max most of the way.  I'm just back from Martha's Vineyard in MA and it's sweltering.
After Boothbay, I suggest you get out the map to get to Burlington.  Rt. 2 across the top of NH and Vt is a wonderful blue highway ride but getting to it will take you through all sorts of ME towns.

Thanks, hope I won't need it but its nice to Know if i do. We are doing all two lane roads heading  from the hudson valley to Boothbay harbor then to Burlington Vt. If you think of anything we should see or a good senic two lane through New hampshire let me know. We have no set plans until we start that days ride.

On the way into NH, we have tolls which have just been improved.  Stay in the left 2 lanes and your EZ pass or other radio toll device is read while you cruise through at 65!  No waiting.
Also, while you're in NH, remember that we have no sales tax; Maine's is 7%.

This took alot longer than I thought it would, had problems mostly with the drivers seat.  But now that it's done I really like the look. My wife and I are going to put her on the autotrain to D.C. and then ride up to Maine and take are time riding back to Florida.
