Nice job, GB. When your Dad upgraded to 12 volt, did he change the starter out as well? When I changed my 1953 Lincoln SA200 gas engine welder over to a 12 volt system, I left the starter alone; it cranked over REAL good! My Dad restored an8N about 15 years ago; his had the 2 speed auxiliary transmission, which made it good for plowing snow. After he painted it my much-talented cousin Brenda hand-lettered it, it came out good too. Nice to see it is being kept in the family. Good job.

Yes, forgot to mention Dad updated it to 12v when he restored it the first time.  It starts a WHOLE lot better....

Well done Sir! Those "old dependables" are still very popular around here.

This was my great-grandfather's first tractor, a 1950 Ford 8N.  (Edit:  I'm told it's a 1950, but from what I read it's older, so I need to look into that.)  Dad bought it on the halves with his father when I was a youngster, when great grand-dad passed.  At the time it was in pieces.  At that time Dad put it together and restored it.  Several years ago, I got the tractor, and it has been a long time since it's been painted, so Dad once again put a fresh coat on the old girl.  I helped with the project some, but had limited time due to a certain 1500 project ongoing...  So now it's done again, and I thought looking pretty nice again.
