Mine's about 5 off too.  As far as I know everything is stock with regeard to the front and rear gear, tires and rims.  Keeps you from getting a ticket anyway.  Besides, above about 75 mph (70 in real life) bike feels like it's gonna explode anyway - - little motor just workin it's butt off!

The police have a unique tool that can tell you exactly how far over the posted speed limit you were going. I don't recommend using that tool as its cost is a little pricey.

Thanx,

Have no problem with doing the math, just wondering if all of the other 800's are the same. Again, thanx for your input

There is usually some descrepency between actual and gage speed on most vehicles, especially those with analog/cable speedo's. Tires and gearing changes have the most impact. 5mph is a lot if everything is factory... but I have seen 3-4 mph difference... have about 4 on my Goldwing - but have different profile tires.

For electronic speedometers there are boxes you can add to correct the speedometer. I guess for cable speedo's you have to use "math"... !!

My speedometer is about 5 mph off. When it shows 55 I am really going about 50. Tires are stock. Just wondering if anyone else has had this. Thanx
