Thanks Guys,

Saves a lot of time going to fiche parts which aren't really proof anyway .

And expands my range of choice .

yeah...that was me...and I would do it again in a heartbeat.  The bike really benefitted from the increased torque....hp is about the same, but the torque is about 11 ftlbs greater....noticeable difference.  I used a new 1600 out of a 2003 Vulcan 1600 that had been wrecked.  I had to keep the throttle body and intake setup due to different tank/fuel line configurations and the 1600 has an inner stator that I left disconnected (has 2), but otherwise, absolutely no issues swapping them.  didn't need change the ECU either.  engine runs smooth and gets me 40mpg with a Baron's air filter and V&H Longshots set up as duels.  No power module, either.

Yeah, as far as I know, someone else on this Forum has already swapped a VN 1600 for the 1500.
But I can't remember who!  :(

I love my swingin' bike!

My Big End is stuffed . Will replace it with another VN 1500 or 1600 .

Has anyone documented 'removing the engine '?

I can't find it in my searches here , but I remember a picture where someone had .

Thanks Paul .
