Spring has sprung (?)

After living here in the north woods for over 40 years, nothing really surprises me when it comes to weather. Saturday, it was 50+, and I went out for a nice ride. That's the first picture....THEN on Sunday, the weather changed...just a bit. That's the next few. The last one is what I had this morning. 7" of new, heavy wet snow.

Spring seems to be here at least for the time being in Kansas. I'm betting we still get one more dusting of snow. Seems to be about the norm lately. I'm hoping for a good rain shower to help wash the sand off the road. Haven't been able to get the time to really get the bike out much other than driving to/from work and a couple quick little jaunts. I'm hoping to in the next couple days though.

lucky you been snowing all day, storm warnings of 6 - 8 " of snow and freezing rain starting sometime this afternoon till tomorrow evening....so ride my friend and ride hard....

Got in a 50 mile ride this afternoon. Got up to 70....almost unheard of around here, this early in the year. Pictures for proof. The last 2 are of the BIG RIVER and some goofy f%$#ers ice fishing on lake Onalaska...

OK, then...the alley river has subsided, so off I went...down to Riverside Park...still a bit of ice on the River...I decided that I should wear my Icon visibility vest...too many yahoos on cell phones, and they really don't expect a bike just yet. Saw 3 other guys out riding while I was One guy on a SofTail, one on an old Wing and a third on a Honda Rebel....

Mine looked like that, except I only have one bare ash tree, last weekend. According to a news report I heard this morning, last week 50% of the country was snow covered, and now, since the jet stream shifted, only 25%. We didn't get the usual 4+ feet of snow this year, so that means no Spring floods, but some other places are really going to be in for it. It's 30 right now, going up to 50+ this afternoon. If the alley is decent, I'm going to put on a few miles.

Last weekend I had a foot of snow in the back yard, today I have almost none. Wed. morning it was -6 F...right now, it's 50 F, and what ever snow there is, is really melting fast. I REALLY wanted to go for a ride today, but my only access to the street is currently a river of muddy, salty water....maybe tomorrow. Supposed to be warmer then, anyway. Since you guys won't believe anything unless there's photographic proof...here's a few shots of my bikes, outside for the first time since November (except for the "W" which I rode on Christmas day for a little bit).
