FINALLY got to go for a ride.  My oldest son and his GF, on his 750 Shadow Ace, and Missus GB and me on the 1500 - we rode out to Piqua OH, to the BK Root Beer stand.  This is an old -time drive-up root beer stand, with hot dogs and hamburgers and such.  It was a great day.  We met Chris, one of the guys at work that I ride with quite a bit with his wife, and 2 more bikes there, and then the 5 of us rode back together.  Got in a little over 200 miles.  Beautiful day...

pretty cool or rather nice pictures but it looks a tad chilly, my arthritis has picked today to flare up so we are getting a barometric change in the next 36 hours, and I am having issues bearing weight on my left leg.........lots of drugs tonight........

We've had some 80° days for about a week, now. The bottom is going to drop out tonight...They're guessing we could have some snow by Wed...In keeping with how the weather is around here...I have some pictures I took today. Yes, that's snow....

well today turned out to be a really nice and sunny day, so I decided to get the bike out of the house, it is getting to be a tad too much for me alone, but it is in the shed, front engine guard and floor boards are back in place, so tomorrow will get some gas, fill the tank and get her started and see how it runs. Ordered a Modular helmet to have for the ride to Drift In......

......and here is what I noticed today when I was cleaning the bike......

That your bike has those screwy km/h instead of the correct mph? ;D

CDNRatMan

Well the snow is almost gone from the front lawn, so perhaps weeks end I'll get my bike out to the shed, and here is what I noticed today when I was cleaning the bike......

Ok, Kiddies...I have officially decided it's Spring in the North Woods. I didn't see any snow this time out, and after a bit I switched to a set of summer gloves. Here are 2 pictures of the ride...This is the second time I've reached the end...and another mileage milestone. I now need 6,171 more before July 20th at 06:00

.......why is Ratman being so nice?  It kinda scares me!

I just care that you look after yourself, you need to dress warm and have your PPE when out riding and enjoy yourself. I will have my bike out soon, and then I too will have  Wind Therapy again and get to be myself.

Looks like you had a good day for a ride today Troll. We are supposed to be getting into the 50's this coming week so once the snow melts enough so I can get the bike out the front door I'll be doing that.

Went to the Monthly ABATE meeting and then for a ride...about 100 miles. Some proof pictures! I found a boat landing that was deserted, so I rolled down there and took a couple...The Black River is pretty high, and is likely to remain so for a while. The got 12" of wet snow north of here, and we got 1 3/4" rain. 62 degrees today!!!!

Yes you be careful and watch for the other road users and be safe, enjoy your ride and have fun.

I'll try and remember that while I'm out today......Thanks! :D

CDNRatMan

Just be careful at your age you do not need to catch a cold this time of year. You might consider full gloves at your age in case you fall and slid along the road, you don't heal as fast as you once did. Take care of yourself so you can enjoy all the riding you can get now.

Yeah, it's pretty tough around here too.  I had to leave my coat halfway zipped up as I rode all afternoon.  Fortunately I was able to be pretty comfortable with my fingerless gloves.

Troll

Snow last night, right after the thunderstorms....but the sun came out..for about a minute, and we had more rain. The show melted, but now it's going below freezing over night..But tomorrow is SUPPOSED to be 63....I'll wait and see.

;) Day three of rain today, and it is getting cold again. Temps are going to stay in the 30's the rest of the week and into next week. I have written a letter to the Town Council about my issues with the city, and this happens every spring, I get this nice large lake in front of my house. So I have asked the city to raise my land taxes to the same as the people along the lake. If they do not want to do this for me then to allow me a permit to allow a marina on my lake so people can use my lake to fish and camp around.
I am seeing the snow melt and the green stuff showing up so soon the path will be clear and the bike will move from the house to the shed and the season will be here. Well ok have a good day......

Isn't it about time for you to buy a Can Am Spyder or something like that??

Seriously though, at Drift In last year there were two old guys (a little older than Troll) rooming near us.  They were not there for Drift In, just in the area.  One of them on a Gold Wing trike, the other one on a Spyder.  They seemed to both enjoy them.  They were passing through going somewhere....

THEN, there was this other old guy (a lot older than Troll), I'm thinking he was in his 70s.  He was riding with his son, who had, if I remember, a HD, with tons of chrome.  They were not with Drift In either, but spend several days there.  Every time when the two of them would go out for a ride, the old guy would put his half helmet on without fastening the strap.  Someone would say "Hey, your helmet isn't strapped", and he's say "I know it isn't strapped, I never strap it".    Son confirmed this- I heard this at least 4 times - "He never straps on his helmet, I don't know how he keeps it on".    SO ANYWAYS, the old guy rode a great big red (I believe) v-6 cruiser, I think it was a Valkyrie, with loud 6-banger pipes - that is true duals X 3 on each side.   Every time (and I mean every single time) they would go out for a ride, the old guy would get on his Valky, start it up, and just rev the daylights out of it..... Vroom... Vrooom..  Vrooom   Vrooom  .....   For as long as it took him to get it backed out of the parking spot.   It sounded kind of like a drag car at the racetrack warming up getting ready to take off...     Made me laugh every time.

So see, Ratman, you've got a lot to look forward to.   8)

ah but soon we will be riding, and if funds hold out then the Ride to Drift In and then late fall a ride to PEI are in the plans along with 2 Ride For Dad events (Kingston and North Bay|), the Biker Reunion (New Liskeard), and Ride for the Cure (North Bay).
Now that I am officially old and retired I wan to do a loop ride for Drift In. but time will tell.
