0330 this morning woke up to the wind howling, house creaking, and my arthritis was easing up so the storm had arrived or moved out of range, so go up to look out side and wish I had just stayed in bed......

That weather is just wrong in every way.

You have me beat if I don't count the rides to the shop this winter (new tires) which I'm not counting. Right now I'm at roughly 250. Long ways to my 10,000 mile goal (I decided to make it a lofty goal this year). I do have an approximately 3600 mile ride this summer, so that will help a lot towards getting to that goal.

Well, it got warm enough to actually wear some lighter gloves, today. I have 300 miles on so far this year, and I haven't gone anywhere. My riding goal for 2015: I've been doing some calculations, and I need to put on 60 miles every day (minimum) from tomorrow to July 19th when I leave for Drift-In so I turn over 100,000 miles when I get there....I do believe it's do-able...That 60 would be discounting any longer rides, like, say my usual 400+ rode on Memorial Day, or a 350 down to Madison for our ABATE Lobby Day, or the 300 or so to go to the National Motorcycle Museum again...I already have a plan if I get too close to my goal too quickly. It's 829 miles from here to Pikeville, so that means I have to have no more than 99171 on the bike when I leave...So I'll just ride the W....it's only got 25,000 on it...it's still like new! Of course, when I get back home, I'll still need to put on another 2700 for my 10,000 a year... :o

I am just saying here in the deep south it going to be a great weekend for the first ride of my life. It going to be 75 and no wind. I am so ready I swear i can taste the bugs already.

Troll

Got up to 55, but no sun. Oh well, I got to ride looking for something for my wife I couldn't find...about 50 miles!

You need to move south my man!  It's 60F in Indiana today, and Thursday is supposed to be nearly 70F!

Saturday was 40 mph wind, freezing rain, turning to rain and back again...Sunday was cold and dreary...TODAY it's supposed to be 60 and partly cloudy...I'll wait a bit, but maybe I won't need to even start the car....

When I was in the army I spent a lot of my time in Kenya on the equator and in Yemen which was even hotter, probably because it is closer to hell..

These days it would be nice to have some of that heat in Britain instead of paying all these heating bills and having my bike in the garage for so long.

I have just a couple of very small piles of snow left.

CDNRatMan

but March came in like a lamb so if tonight is an indication.....22 mph winds and snowing ......March is going to go out like a Lion.........

Well, the good news is it can't last too long this time of year...  what, another couple weeks??

CDNRatMan

just had this posted on the news....

>:(

A special weather statement issued Tuesday morning says that a low-pressure area developing in Colorado is expected to travel across the Great Lakes on Wednesday and bring freezing rain early Wednesday morning to Southwestern Ontario, spreading north and east through the morning.

The Environment Canada statement warns that freezing rain could last for hours in some areas and pose hazardous driving conditions on Wednesday morning with as much as two to five millimetres of ice accumulation possible.

Seems like Canada here...
It's supposed to be near 50 today, but so far it can't get above 30, and all the white stuff is still all over the place.  We don't usually get snow that sticks this late.

I guess it could be worse, though
Meanwhile, in Canada......

I went outside when Hurricane Gloria hit Connecticut in 1985.  It was only about 85-90mph winds though.

I stayed inside for hurricane Iwa in Hawaii though.  That was a really bad one!

CDNRatMan

you know hurricane season, tornado season.......think I'll stick with snow a lot safer and more fun.......

when was the last time you heard of anyone going out in a tornado or hurricane of their own volition.......

You can keep the snow. I think we're supposed to get rain. Which in Kansas means that tornado season is almost here.

CRAP!!  Now WE got it!  It was supposed to be 40-50F and sunny today.  Instead, it never got above 35 and we got about 4" of the white stuff.    Nice of you to share, Ratman, but next time you can just KEEP it...
