Really not a fan of the fishtail exhaust . I'm a fan of the 2-1 look myself and boy oh boy sure glad I found my roadhouse after a lllloooonnngggg hard search ! I've seen the fish tail exhaust on a 1500 that have the setup on either side of the bike and that looks sweet .
KW I'll put you on top of my list as well if I end up not liking the exhaust on my scoot . Hope you want a black one though .....

  kw understood now, and I will put your name on the exhaust list then. You have #1 spot on the exhaust list now. I thought long and hard about the fender light too, but once I added the front fender guard I thought that the light was too much and being a believer in less is sometimes better idea I left the light off.

No Ratman, I did see that...you passed....for now. But I'm in this for the long haul. Someday, you'll take that roadhouse off for the fish tails or the stock pipes. Maybe not now, but someday. I just want to make my interest and intentions clear.

I am also with you on the stock look. Only exception I might make is exhaust...maybe. I can't even get myself to put a fender light on my 2002....and some of the old Harley "deco" lights of the period are nice looking and easy to get as repros.

For now, I'm watching your roadhouse.....

I have decided to pass on the pipes as I have 2 sets now, and I have about 10 winter projects planned and then save the money for Drift in......but your right I can ride down to Richwood, GB can wash and polish my bike for me while I rest, then his wife and I can go over to Petemoss for the BBQ, and Boaski you might as well join us, then in the morning we can head for Drift in 14.........

Like I told GB in a pm that I am really happy with the stock look of my bike and with the only mod really being the Roadhouse I still think I have a stock bike with only after market made for the bike add ons. So I am going to stick to that theme for my bike, now those on D1's bike would look awesome.....

Anyone riding solo and has folding rear passenger floor boards let me know....lol......

The rear mount had been modified for another exhaust system that was on it so I had to make a simple bracket to mount it back on.

It looks like North Bay is only a 9 hour ride. Get up early on a Saturday & head this way. About an hour to mount the pipes and you can be back home in under 24 hrs.

Boaski, then you would have loved my 1969 Skidoo Tundra long track...lol.......it was top speed of just over 35 mph. It was slow compared to the rest of the guy's but it never got stuck, I could just let it go and it would go through all the stuff and keep going, and torque on it was awesome, I could haul a qamutiq that would bog down the rest of my hunting party. I could haul a full moose out with it on the qamutiq.

Yes, my helmet has been cinched a little tight.

I used to have fast & newer, but I just like the old stuff. My dream "sled" is actually a Model T with the White snowmobile conversion. So far the price has been out of my budget.

I have no shortage of projects. I have a tried and true restoration plan.

1. I see something
2. I convince myself that I need it really bad.
3. I find a way to acquire it.
4. I bring it home and stare at it in the bar.
5. I decide to restore it.
6. I take it apart...

nothing wrong with snowmachines, they are really a part of life up here and even when I lived farther north they are a really important part of daily life. I cannot ride on properly anymore due to my knees, I can do the old man thing and sit on the seat and idle along but anyone who knows they are meant to ride like a dirt bike the weight on the knees and used as shocks, or in really deep snow to kneel on the seat and balance as you pound through the snow....so I just don't ride one anymore.......however I do remember someone taking a 750 CB Honda engine and dropping it in their old beat to snot snowmachine and man did that sucker fly............

You just kicked off a major off topic rabbit trail!

My dad and 2 other guys went together and bought a left over 1973 Boa Ski Mark 1 292 from Campbell Supply in Marion. Since it was the first motorized thing I had access to that went fast I was hooked.

Since 3 families were beating the crap out of it the thing gave up the ghost in the winter of 1978. A year or two later I bought my first snowmobile; a (well) used 1974 Boa SS 340. I usually rode it an hour and worked on it 4. I ended up trading it for a Yamaha 125 Enduro (it wasn't much better). We went a year or two without a sled after that.

Since 1980 I've always had a snowmobile, usually more than one. Some where around 1997 I found a couple Boa Skis for sale up in Grand Rapids. Things have steadily gone down hill since then. At last count I've owned over 100 sleds in the years since. I think the most I've had at any one time has been somewhere in the 30's.

Right now my focus is Boa Ski and anything odd, heavy ugly and slow (kind of autobiographical).

Here's a 1963 Polaris Sno Traveler. I found it in western South Dakota. I thought my wife was going to revoke my Ebay privileges after that one.

This one is a 1961 Polaris Sno Traveler project. It came from up around Herkimer, NY.

1970 Super Snowbug with my son on it.

1968 or 69 Innovar SnoCoupe. I sold this one along with a parts sled to fund the Drifter.

Here's a 1979 Ski Doo Elite. I found it in a barn close to Upper Sandusky. The guy that had it bought it the year of the blizzard. They put 201 miles on it and parked it in the barn. After having it for 14 years I decided to send it down the road this summer - time to fund a different project...

Now that's asking for trouble.  I can see Ratman, being from the Great White North, AND having his great fondness for vintage machinery going to this swap meet, and leaving hooked on modifying and riding his newly acquired vintage sled collection, getting hooked on these....  Maybe even getting a Boa tattoo or something...  The Drifter may get long forgotten...

On a serious note, though, I had never even heard of Boa Skis, until now.  Those are pretty cool.  How did somebody in OH get into collecting vintage snow machines, with our annual average of 2" of snow?

Another option on getting them to you would be to see if any of my fellow Boa Ski collectors live anywhere close to you.There is a vintage snowmobile swap meet coming up the first weekend of November. Usually a few of us meet up there.
