Depends on the looks you are after and they look really nice in the chrome version, just I am not into chrome. So I decided to go with the black look, perhaps the chrome will pop on your ride because you have some chrome already. As for body fill anything will do as there is no stress and no banging supposed to be applied to the bumperettes.

Because I have a 99 and want to maintain the black out look I am going to go with the gloss black paint. might even fill the holes with body fill to make them gloss black too rather then the plastic look we shall think that one over, will start the wet sanding soon just for something to do.

Thanks.....

Is their plastic look so much visible? In that case, I have to reconsider my plan (I've got a 99 too, but mine has got the saddle's handrail chromed so I thought it could have been a nice "pendant" with those bumperettes. See pic below).
What kind of body fill do you think is stronger enough to withstand the stresses of the bike ridin'?

Btw: I think I'm gonna do it to my Bike, too, but I'm still wonderin' if it would be nicer to leave those bumperettes chromed instead of black paintin' them... :-\
