Thanks greenbarn your feeling the same way on this subject . My thoughts exactly . I'll see if I have a pic with both on the bike . I placed the fender rack on just to see if I liked the look or not and believe it or not I'm not sure if the picture was with the two at one ? I did see a pic with the same set up on another bike , but different color and style for look then I'm going with so it's apple to oranges with the comparison .

D1 take your time, like you said you have all winter and make it yours and do what you feel is right for you and keep plugging away.

yes we need a picture with both, and you have space in the living room to take the pictures we need....

Dak must agree with D1 apes and windscreens just don't go together in my mind, like a batwing faring, and ape hangers you lose the hand protection, seems to be counter to what we are after or some people are after....

TOUGH decision...  I like the rack, and I like the seat rail, and I like the tool bag.

I like the bag the most, but I like it better on the rail than hanging on the back of the seat.

I really like the rack, too, but not necessarily better than the seat rail, if you have to decide between the two.

BTW, I don't remember seeing a picture of "both".  I'm not sure, in my mind's eye, that it's "too much" (for me). I'd like to see it with both.

Of course your wishes trumps our wishes....    Like it's been said before... It's your bike.

Ratman seat rail really has no purpose , at least mine it's more less for the looks . I have all winter to stare at the bike and play with ideas so hopefully I can make up my mind  :o

Dak that bike looks good and has the osprey bags and looks like hard chrome exhaust or perhaps vance and hines ? Either way there's upgrades you won't have to worry about already done . Me personally , would loose the windshield though if your keeping the apes . That is of course , if you decide to purchase this .
As far as Singh goes I've given up on emailing him . I'm actually going to see if I can find someone who can come close to my color leather or just go in a totally different direction for leather .

I just ordered my whole new leather package from Singh for my 1500 and am seriously considering buying this 800 for sale around here.

CDNRatMan

Well you think that both is too much so that settles that idea because no matter what you have decided that it is too much, and again sometimes less is better, ok to show my ignorance is there any purpose to the seat rail? If not then I would personally go with the fender rack, granted they are not for a heavy load but enough to take a lunch bucket. I am still looking for a rifle holster for the front of your bike.....
Grenade mirrors would be awesome and so cool looking it would really make that a one of a kind bike.
The amber drive lights look good, but around here after dark I want all the lights I can have because just before impact with Bullwinkle I want to be able to say "OH SH$$"............

Thanks for the liking so far , ratman and greenbarn. The seat bag at times rubs the fender there for glazing the paint . By this I mean the flat paint looks glossy were it has rubbed probably similar with those that have the front fork bag . I have to repaint the rear fender again this winter  ??? That being said leads me to a few decisions :
1) Add a leather fender bib same color leather of course
2) Remove the bag from the seat and put it on the seat rail that I have
3) remove the bag all together and seat rail and add Teds fender rack that I have sitting in the box still LOL
I'm not quite sure what look I like better . The fender rack or the seat rail ? IMOP with both it looks to be to much . Opinions needed on this

Good looking bike, there, D1.  It would look GREAT with some grenade mirrors on it!!

Hey, I love those amber driving lights - that's what I put in mine.  I think they look great.

;D just got to ask you this question.....

noticed your little bag behind the seat, does that not get squeezed between the seat and fender ?

bike looks really nice at this point......

dakuhosa , that's on the list as well this year . In fact I'm also going to change the wheel bearings also .I have the all balls for that as well . Thanks for the how to it's greatly appreciated brother . Krylon is my friend LOL that's what I used to paint my scoot  ;)

Looks fantastic. Now, to paint those wheels you just sand them down with some 800, spokes and all, primer them with bulldog, use krylon flat black, scuff that with scotch-bright and finally krylon satin clear and hit it lightly with a little scotch-bright until you get the exact look you want. Cheap and bulletproof.

Just wanted to update Ma-Deuce construction . With a new saddle over the spring and now new progressive springs , steering neck bearings replaced with all balls and driving lights installed today , enjoy !

So if someone offered you $500.00 right now for your seat you could nor ride on a pillow for 3 weeks?

I'm thinking there's a chance to recoup some funds there.

Honestly never even gave that a thought,PC.Maybe, I'll list the seat in the for sale section here on the forum when the new seat arrives.I'm not expecting the new seat to arrive for approximately 3 more weeks.
