Yeah all horns get wet... they just should not be drowned in water, should be positioned so water isn't forced up into the internals.

Well I went to Canadian Tire and looked at those horns, right on the package it said for M/C's too. Read a bit farther down the packet, do not place near heat, or were water or mud can splash on them or near a high pressure hose........well they are out for now then....

Just curious, but what kind of "car" horn never gets wet?  Have you seen where those things are on a car?  Trust me, they get wet!

I love having a reasonable sounding horn. I put some air horns on my truck. The horn on the drifter sounds... ahh... very wimpy. I replaced mine with a set we sell our store... they come in black and chrome and I really like the look.

I hear ya Troll, the last 3 times I used my horn in traffic, was to tell the cars in front of me at a light that the light was not getting any greener...

Other than that as I pass a friends house..

HUH,had no idea of that screw...then again my horn is still attatched to the bike.Good find RATMAN....I'm telling you,you need to move to the states and be my neighbor......

  Did anyone notice a wee screw in the back of the 800's horn.........well if you turn it in the horn goes silent....screw it back out and what a horrible sound, so once you find the correct spot it is rather loud and a pretty cool beep beep sound comes out...but that is in the living room.....now to wait to hear it outside.......

RATMAN I was thinking....look out.... and the 1500 have 2 horns I'm assuming one low and the other high decibal.I think by keeping the original horn and adding another should solve the weet,weet issue.What do you think?Also you can rattle can them to your liking,either red or black.......

I'm trying to remember that last time I needed the horn in traffic...it's been years. The only time I blow it is when I go by a friend's house on my way to Ft. McCoy early in the morning, just to annoy him.

That's a cheap mod,PC.The 800 only has one horn,but would be fairly easy to build a bracket so two horns could be hooked up.

I saw a horn at Canadian Tire the other day and am going to go and check it out it is a dual horn and I am sure I can fab some sort of bracket to make it look correct.

The 1500's have 2 horns, the previous owner took off the low note horn, so mine sounds like someone goosing a monkey.

I have thought of getting a louder one, my friend has a multi function horn on his, it sounds like the police horn (not the siren) it will get your attention.

I think ratman should get the oogah from a model A ford horn for his, it would match his riding attire.

I just have not upgraded yet.
i TRY to keep at least a 75+ft. radius between me and any vehicle with 4 or more wheels..

I think I might just add a low tone 335 hz replacement to mine and keep the meep meep Road Runner horn. One of them fell off a while back when the bracket broke. I found it hanging by the wires when I stopped while out riding. Since I had two on there I just left it alone. Its a a high freq horn, so adding a low freq to it should make a good combination and get more sound.

Now Don't get me wrong, I lioke the looks of the horn in the spot up front  and everything, but once you press that button, and that weak kneed sound comes out it is not funny, I would like something a bit more startling towards people who pull in front of you and cut you off, air horns are too big in my mind...I will shop around.....

I think there's something to be desired beyond the stock "meep meep" horn.  There's always the train/truck air horn route, as an option at the other end of the spectrum.

My good pals,RATMAN & CHILLIDRIFT are talking about getting louder horns for our Drifters.Ratman has modified his new crash bars with two new holes to install the stock horn with the possible future of an up graded louder horn.Chillidrift mentioned that he was looking to install a stock car horn to replace his "squeek  box"LOL........I'm pretty content with my horn at the moment,but up grades for safety reasons are always a plus to those drivers that have no respect for the road to begin with.Just wondering what my fellow riders did for an up grade if any..........
