 I feel the same VooDooChild.

Chief, I don't travel without the GPS now either. ;D

This is one of the best parts about motorcycling, I think ..... awesome solitude, and then suddenly, instant friendship.  I get jazzed everytime I get a 'biker wave', having made a connection in this mean old world, and knowing that I may never know that guy (or gal) by name or even if I passed them on the street, but that if I was in a jam and stranded, they would be there, no questions asked.  I stop EVERY time for a stranded biker, NO exceptions.  Keep it dirty side down!

Usually we don't have to give poor directions... yankees tend to get lost without much help from us. <LOL>

I don't find much difference in road markings from State to State. MS did empty me into a cotton field once.... and the GPS does route some interesting roads. The problem in any State is the little local roads, not the county, State or Federal ones. Any of the mountain States can get you in trouble fast if you don't know where you are or where you are going!  I don't travel nowadays without the gps.

Well, if you head north you will run into KY... West takes you to the Mississippi River, south - NC, AL, GA or MS.... East - NC or VA. Really hard to get lost here. <g>

Thats a problem when you guys don't mark your roads very well.
we even asked for directions and one person put us on a road that turned to gravel, then dirt, and then moss in the road. Nothin' like southern hospitality,
'hey lets have some fun with the northerners. Send them in circles"

I'm thinking it might of been broken. He had out his atlas (its on his luggage in the photo.)

Varooom

I note a GPS above the dude's handlebars.  He must have been taking a break.

Nice story Boop. I can see how a person from a different state can get confused in Tenn.
My wife and I rode there last year. We  thought we were going to have to call home and tell our kids to sell everything and send us the money. We thought we were going to have to buy a house there 'cause we could not get out of the state.

On my way home this evening I saw a man & his bike sitting @ the end of an exit ramp. First glance, those big fat fenders got my attention. So, I did a u-turn & back I go to the exit. I thought he was having trouble. (I would of stopped no matter what kind of bike). And you should of seen his expression when he saw a nurse stopping to 'help a brother out'. And when I told him I was a Drifter gal myself, he smiled ear to ear. He had been to Myrtle Beach and was heading back home to Arkansas. Just got a little side tracked on one of our beautiful roads here in Tn. I pointed him in the right direction, scenic route of course. Ole Wayne said he has a daughter in Franklin Chief, so keep your eyes open for him. I would say it had been many miles since that ole dude had a pleasant conversation. Other than the one he had a few miles back having a flat repaired. I told him about the forum & he asked me about the Drift in. Before we parted ways I wrote down the website & snapped his pic.
Needless to say, that ole tanned white haired biker made this tired ole nurses day! Someday, I will be able to take a road trip like that! I smiled all the way home (26 miles) & still smiling!
Happy trails Wayne! Rubber side down!!
