2001 drifter 1500?

Most of the F.I. 1500's are similar, but the Drifter has a different cam grind that emphisizes bottom end torque.  It pulls a bit better from the bottom end.

I have a good friend that has a 2002 drifter and he keeps telling me the same thing.  Also thanks for the great replies.

One further question, are the motors the same as on the classic vulcans?  I figure the 1500 is the 1500 so they should be.  Im just worried about parts for a bike that is no longer made and how hard it would be to find mechanically things to fix it if it goes bad.

No issues that I can recall. $4K is a good price. Obviously maintenance is the key factor. I strongly suggest you review the material on the web site and have a look here for info. Good luck and cheers.

Hi and welcome.  I have the 4176th drifter made, a 1999 1500 and just turned 77,000 miles.  I'd drive cross country tomorrow and have had no major problems.  3 sets of spark plugs, oil and filter.  I'd buy this bike if mine were stolen; great deal considering the $10,500 I paid for mine.

First off I want to say hello, this is my first post.  I am new to the drifter model but have always wanted one.  I finnally found one for sale in my region and just wanted to get some experienced advice before I went to take a good look.

The bike is a 2001 1500 the white with red look.  It has just under 10,000 miles and is stock nothing added. It is being sold by the original, Female if that matters, owner.  SHe is asking 4,000.

Has this year bike had many issues?  Is this a decent deal by price and mileage?
