It was a lot of riding, but I never got sore, no hot spots etc. Now when we first bought the bike and seat, 500 miles killed me... like anything else new... you wouldn't take a 50 mile hike in new boots without problems either!

Yeah corbins are firm... I've had one for every bike I've owned for as long as I can remember. Have two now... I tried riding with the stock Goldwing seat and it burnt me up and killed my back. Replaced it with a corbin. I have NEVER had "hot spots" with a corbin. I rode over 5000K miles in 15 days on one a couple of years ago... no problem. If you want a comfy chair feel to your seat... don't buy corbin and deal with the "monkey butt" and hot spot issues. It sorta like getting used to a saddle on a horse... they are firm for good reason IMHO.

Corbins are hard......too hard for my butt.  Some people swear by them though.

I don't have one, but if I were in the market for a new seat I'd go with travel horse.
