Oil light is on, engine won't start

I removed the oil pressure light delay unit and the oil pressure warning light turned off. (Obviously) The bike started right up. It still doesn't explain why the oil pressure warning light was on. I will not drive the bike until I discover the cause of the problem. I will ckeck the oil pressure switch tomorrow to see if it is defective. I hope it is just a faulty switch. That would be awsome if it was that simple.

First, no plastic gears in Drifters.

This likely has nothing to do with the oil system.

Start simple... make sure kill switch is in the right position and bike is in neutral.

Since the oil light is coming on, you likely don't have a blown main fuse, but it could be electrical. Check the battery and connections.

This morning, I went to fire up the bike and the oil light came on and it would not start. Any ideas? (The oil was recently changed and the level is right where it should be). Also, there was some mention of a plastic oil gear. could someone explain this please? Is it an oil pump part?
