No time for one in the shorts!  Besides, my wife could be proud of me because the undies they cut off of me that day happened to be brand new ones!

No time for words!  My skid mark was only 20 feet long!

Was that skid mark on the ground or in your shorts? :o

Yeah, see that's the thing.....it would have to happen before long or it wouldn't be worth it probably.

As for walking, no.  The doc's say no walking for 6 months, then I'll have to learn to walk again.  For now, no weight at all for several months.

DC

I see one of the frame bends in the pics.   Man, you must have really gotten whalloped by that truck.  That guy from Wheels Through Time does frame straightening, but it would probably be pretty expensive to do.. . . . and to do it right.

greenbarn

PC, I would take you up on that offer, but going out of town this next week, and no time to get out there.  By the time I get "time" to get over there and get her out of the clink, I'm afraid the storage bill alone will be more than the parts are worth....

So how are you hanging in there?  Are you walking yet?  Just wondering how the leg is mending.

They tell me that my first word after my first surgery was "Nadine?".

:o well I for one think that we can all count the stars we were not involved and you have lived to tell us what was the word you used when you realize that you were going to make contact with the truck.

Yeah, the frame is obviously tweaked in several places, so she's a goner.

Troll

Have somebody who KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING check the frame for damage. If it's ok, or can be straitened, then just fix it! . It isn't like they are making more of these...

PC, it's very sad to see your deuce layin' that way...
BUT, first of all, you're still alive and SAFE... and, after all, you could always buy a new one soon or later...
Best wishes, bud!

I love my swingin' bike!

Tim

Hi PC I don't post much as I am a wannabe without having found my bike yet. Just wanted to say I'm really sorry about your foot and your bike. I've been in an accident or two myself and I know the pain of seeing your ride laying down in pieces... but good to hear that you are doing much better! Prayers for you brother - you will find another bike and great that you are recovering well. Blessings to you and your family. Tim

For those interested, I went to see Nadine today for the first time since the accident.  It was very sad.

At first, it looks repairable, but on closer inspection it can be seen that the frame is bent in several places and the radiator got into jug 1, though it doesn't look bad, so the motor might need gone through.  Unfortunately, it just doesn't make sense to keep her and rebuild.  Since the only Drifter specific parts that are unharmed are at the rear of the bike, it doesn't even make sense to part her out, for me.

If someone wanted to pay the impound fee's ($30 a day) to get her out and buy her from the insurance company (don't have that number yet), then maybe they could have a decent parts bike, since the electronic brain and many other parts are good.  You'd have to come pick her up, but I can make sure that she's available if someone needs her, but for me, she's dead.  If you want her, speak fast, because this is happening fast.  I can get you numbers soon so you could make a decision.  I won't charge anything from my end, just whatever it takes to get her out of impound and I'll sign the title over.  I'd be nice to know she was at least an organ donor.......

Here's the sad, sad pics......
