Kaw saddle bag struts and bags worked with my Corbin 2up but I had to modify the seat for it to work on the solo. The seat rail did work and bolted on with no modification to it.
Thanks for the link...

Factory saddlebag and setup will not work with this seat.
Probably have to modify stuff to make things work.
Check out the link. Look under Notes.

Sounds as if it's just an issue of the struts.  I guess maybe Corbin didn't take that into account.

No Worries

The J and R models use the same seat from Kawi, so I don't know why Corbin would be different.

Mine is VN1500R1 model. I didn't take the struts off and check but I'm sure it would have.

Mine is the 2000 Kawasaki VULCAN 1500 DRIFTER (VN1500-J2). I don't have the saddlebags struts installed. Did the seat fit without the struts?

Pilgrim

I have the 2001 1500R Is yours a J model and do you have the Kaw saddlebag struts? Maybe they sent me the seat for a J model. I don't know if they make a seat for the J and a seat for the R.

Under the skirt the back part of the pan curves down for the skirt to ride on...that's where I had to trim, it was hitting the top of the saddlebag struts.

Wow, that sounds like a lot to get the seat to fit. I just bought a Corbin solo about 2 months ago, other than having to modify the tank bolt a little she bolted right up. I think I would call the folks at Corbin to find out why yours was so difficult. I have a 2000 1500 which bike you riding?

Got my new Corbin in the mail today...man, for a $400 seat you would think it would be bolt and go, not so.
The rear of the pan was resting down on the saddlebag support brackets and would not let the seat lower enough to bolt up. I had to peel the leather back and cut off about an inch of the pan for it to clear.
Had to install a washer under the front large washer to raise it a little and file a little off the large washer so the flat piece on the seat would slide under.
Got it installed finally...shew.

I'll post a pic soon, stormin' here now.
