Hey Guys,

So I was able to get the alarm installed. It is the Scorpio Sr-i800 and so far its great. Only been a couple of days, but overall impressed with its sensitivity and it was pretty easy to install. I got a little hung up, but customer service was awesome. They guy explained what I needed to do and bam I was done. took me about 2.5 hours and that is with me not being very mechanically inclined. it has a shock/tilt sensor and for $50 more I bought the parimeter sensor (so if someone tries to take parts off my bike). $213 out the door including tax. For an extra $25 you can get the adapter for your specific bike to make install even easier! Hope this helps anyone who is considering getting one!

To be fair I am going back nearly 10 years and I presume the security industry has come on a long way since then and addressed that problem. Keep us posted.

Thankfully where I live now I don't need an alarm but when I lived in the uk a lot of insurance companies insisted on an approved alarm system, I had a spyball and meta alarms but both suffered the same problem they flattened the battery very quickly at that time I did not have the luxury of being able to put the bike on an optimate charger. I was only using the bikes at weekends and coming to use it to find it would not start was not funny.

These alarms wire to the battery, but also have a back-up battery in the case that they try and cut the battery wire. We will see. It should be delivered today, but I am going out of town. I will keep you all posted.

So I just purchased a Scorpio Alarm system for my motorcycle with the additional Perimeter Sensor. Anyone have experience using these? reviews are good, but would like some opinions on it here. Thanks
