Yes I think that is the secret ratman, all the ones I have bust have been in the garage. Once again thank you for looking for them for us Andrea would never forgive me if I had not gotten them. ;D

;D ok I am done and will now sign off as your parts person and let you deal with TJ.

I have had the Highway Hawks on my bike since I bought it and only had one brake and that was because some clown tried to park too close to me. But otherwise I have never had one break, but then I also only have one bike in my shed.....

The visors I have are highway hawk and they use the top lens screw to mount them, they do look good but are plastic,my problem is too many bikes in the garage and you only need to brush past them and they snap off. Ratman you are fired I have a new Canadian mate who finds parts I am looking for. ;D

I found this Fire and Steel made visors from aluminum. Those probably being the ones that do not fit since they are not for specific models.

I was thinking the ABS plastic ones were nice to buy for myself. It seems a lot saver, those being able to break. Even when being just as sharp, plastic is less dangerous then metal. When pinker gets hit then something has to give way. Breaking them is less a problem and they are cheap Euro 17,77 a pair.

My question here is: are there visors being able to mount on the screws that are already there pointing sideways in the lens, or are there any that just clamp behind the lens and the pinker body as easy as that? How on earth do these accessories mount and what do you get with 664-051's. Those with rings or these caps only?

CDNRatMan

Oh it is you so charge him lots he is rich and he sponges off his wife who does all the work in the house and family......

Now just hold on ratman before you leave on a big road trip to find me visors,I have just had email from one of your members who has exactly what I am looking for. So thank you for all your trouble and of course Andrea will reimburse you for any costs you have incurred, you know the address.

traa-dy-lioor

CDNRatMan

;) also remember that Andrea is the type to hold you to your deals and you said any funds I spend you will repay for this hunt of yours. So tomorrow i have to drive to Toronto and the cost of fuel and meals will be about $500.00 CDN, or 262.787 GBP.......and that is not the cost of the visors if I find them......

I did go to a couple of places looking for them and all so far are plastic with chrome paint on them. the one metal ones I did find were not for our bikes it would work if the screws are side to side not top and bottom......but I have been directed to look at another place so tomorrow i'll head over there.....

PC we shall met in WI

Shunter, you know he'll do it....  he likes the abuse.. ;D

He IS kind of a glutton for punishment, isn't he?

CDNRatMan

I bought ones from Highway Hawk, thru Value Accessories in the US, same part number 664-051 and they are chrome coloured
but are in actual fact plastic under the chrome cover.

I have seen them advertised and Highway Hawk makes them.

It is High Quality Chrome and that can't be plastic. Euro 17,77 only and free traffic. The VN1500 Drifter being mentioned, please do compare part numbers between the other models.

Good luck.

Shunter, you know he'll do it....  he likes the abuse.. ;D

No Worries

CDNRatMan

So let me understand you and see if I am correct:
Are you asking me to go to a local truck stop, Seeing as North Bay is the intersection of the 2 major trans Canada routes here, and we have at least 12 truck stops in a 5 mile radius. To look and buy signal light visors for you? After all the abuse you and PC have given me you want me to go and look for you........

shunter v8

Thanks, now ratman you heard what the man said. I would look myself but we don't have any truck stops here as we only have 12 trucks.

traa-dy-lioor

pcarrell

Truck stops might be a good source.  They have those visors for their running lights, and if I remember correctly, many of those running lights are the same diameter as our turn signals, and they have the same 2 screw mounts.

CDNRatMan

;) Andrea can decide about the looks......and if Uncle Malcolm said so then it is like law, sort of like if Troll said it it is bible around here......

I'll keep looking.

shunter v8

I hope I am never as good looking as you if you look like a rat. I am pretty sure they exist as uncle Malcolm said he got some from America if I remember right.

CDNRatMan

::) I never found metal ones, but then the plastic ones I have, have only been on there for about 3 years, and only needed to replace one when it was hit by a passing bike in a parking lot. Also if you were even close to being as good looking as myself they would not shatter.......I'll see if I can find any for you.........
