What's surprising is that it sounds like the state troopers were there when it happened, or maybe they were after him when he pulled in there?

Being a very popular vacation area at the height of vacation season probably had a good number of police nearby to respond quickly.

Wow Ratman!  Glad you came out alright and nobody was hurt.  Sheetmetal has little value compared to flesh!

This is why you always need to have a camera....I saw a weinermobile in Illinois, but I couldn't get a picture, so it didn't really happen!

WOW..... probably got a call on their cell phone and lost track of time and distance. cell phone users are my number one concern riding a bike. I have been cut off twice in the past year to left turns with people talking on their cell phones. I grew up in a time that the only phone was hanging on the kitchen wall. Go figure this one out, my kids have a cell phone syndrome that is related to ass planted on the couch. We played football and baseball in the field  close to the house when I was a kid. What the hell was a cell phone in those daze?

Glad you came out of it safe, with nothing worse than having all your nose scraped on the asphalt... ride safe, and watch out for the road clowns.

I was planning on getting to Waynesboro today in VA, but then saw a sign saying, Cumberland Gap and then remembering all the Louis L'Amour books I had read about the Cumberland I took a wee side trip, then saw a sign saying alternate route for I 81 North so off I went.....lol......so about 1400 I pulled in to the car rest area just south of Wytheville VA. after taking care of business, I went out to my bike and was standing there, thinking I had 2 more hours to Waynesboro, when I heard a huge smashing sound and decided the place to be was low and close to the ground, looked around and a truck had entered the rest area at mach 900 and pin balled off about 4 cars, and then head on into a huge trash bin, airbags deployed and you know what people were thinking and reacting in this day and age. I am going to bet the the driver forgot his cruise control on and realized it far to late. The driver was out walking about, and thank the good lord not one person was hurt.........

so I found a motel and after changing my shorts and having a shower I am almost back to normal.......

GPS is not to get you THERE but rather to get you home from THERE
