Ok, then I need just 420 more miles this season to make my 10,000 for the year...

I expect, riding in Hawaii would get boring after bout a month; the views experienced, however, would always be refreshing and one would never tire of them.

A lot of times, I just hop on my bike and ride somewhere to be riding.  I also set some goals to explore some new places.

Troll

For over 50 years, it's been the ride, not the destination, to me. I'm glad I don't live in Hawaii, for example...no matter how beautiful it is, there are only so many places to go!

My Drifter turned 10,000 miles this week.  It is an 01, so it is finally broke in.  I had the valves checked and all of my fluids changed this year.  I am taking a moto-camping trip with it to Hell's Canyon the 2nd week of September for 5 days.

I put quite a few more miles each year on my Honda Silverwing Maxi Scooter.  Quite a few reasons for doing so:

1.  Anonymous bike.  No one sees me coming or going on it.
2.  Fuel injected.  It starts, it goes, no choke.
3.  Under seat storage makes it a grocery getter.
4.  Step through design makes it easy to mount and dismount.

The Silverwing is really my daily driver.  I always enjoy starting and riding the Drifter.... but it is a different deal.

I used to put on quite a few miles each year.  I don't know if it is old age or what, but it seems like I have to have a place to go and a reason for it before I leave the house.  After over 40 years of riding, I still  enjoy riding the bike, but I have to have a reason to go someplace.

On Aug 2nd, I turned 100,000, today 101,000, and I haven't been anywhere since Drift-In!    Well, I did go to Anamosa, IA, but that was only 350 miles...

I've been riding the "W" a lot lately. I have a goal for it, too. I just need about 1,500 more miles on it to make 25,000. I bought it with 9,000 on it in 2009 for my 60th birthday. I just changed oil for what should be the last time this season in the Drifter. It's pretty warm here, but by the end of the month, the weather will change, so I switched back to 10-40. 100,075 (60,000 since 2010, when I put it on the road) on the odometer. No more big rides planned for the year, just a few 350-400 milers...I need 2,500 on the Drifter, too...so just another 4,000 and I'll have met all my presets!

Have you walked that killer hound since she dragged you and broke your leg?

2 days of sun and shining, hope next weekend is as nice so Troll and I can have a nice ride to the Biker Reunion.

I think my feet are beginning to grow webbing between my toes....

As of Friday 2 different farmers, one slightly NW of us and one slightly E,  told me they each had 8 inches and 9 inches since the previous Friday.  Then it rained most of the day here Saturday - but didn't bother me too much - we were in Cleveland most of the day car shopping and visiting my sister, who lives there.  Drove the van, because it was raining when we left and forecast to rain most of the day - it did, but didn't extend up to where we were for all that long.

No Worries

Around 2" of rain around here Friday...

I dunno...it's not like I haven't been trying, but I just can't seem to get any real miles this year...FINALLY turned 96,000 on the clock this afternoon...only 3,500 for the whole year so far >:(

I'd be lucky if I had even 350 miles this year.  It was cold so late, and once it's warmed up, it's rained so much any day it's NOT raining, I'm so far behind on outside chores, mowing and such.  basically this riding season has sucked in Ohio....

Keep it up Troll,  Hit the 100K !!! ;D
