My 800 has what I believe to be Phatrisers on it - installed by PO.   I like the setup a lot.  I need to get the 1500 closer to that setting, either by adding the risers or perhaps switching bars...   Not sure yet what to do.   The 1500 in stock setup has the bars a little too far forward to suit me, after having the 800 with the risers.  Need fatter grips too...

Scootworks Phatrisers and Phatrisers 2 are highly recommended.  The Phatrisers 2 is about the max you can do with stock cables, but they make a HUGE difference. The Phatrisers 2's require some rerouting of the cables and hoses behind the triple tree to get the extra reach needed, but that's not too hard.  http://www.scootworks.com/shop.cgi/page=partskawhandle.htm/SID=PUT_SID_HERE

Not only a promotion but a raise now at twice what 49 was making. I am floating on a cloud of cotton candy thanks to Chief's generosity.

Ok I looked at your gallery, and now just MPHO, apes on your bike, na......nope....they just would not look right. as pc said 2" and you have to change your cables, and hoses. Me I would try a set of risers first, and see what that does. A set of 2" up and an 1" back......might be the ticket and a simple swap.

I think a 2" riser is about the max you can do with stock cables.

I heard somewhere years ago that the 99 had shorter cables and the chrome models longer?  What is max anybody has gone with a 99 on apes or risers?

Apes vs some risers, are the apes more for looks, if you don't want to see the risers?  I want to raise the bars 3" to 4"  and like the mini-apes, but maybe risers would do the same exact thing, give me height and look?  Maybe apes are shaped a little differently?

hope everybody is having a great riding season so far, and if I heard correctly, ratman finally got a promotion around here??
