I can't really say exactly....   somebody would steal the idea 8)  We need to at least wait until the mod is DONE before the intellectual property is ripped off!!! ;D

Mine is only 3 as well. The 4th axis is usually a rotary table/vice that would turn the part on its side and upside down so you could perform machining on those facets also. They automate what I would do manually. For compound work, like for example an impeller, you would use a 5 or more axis machine. I have a friend who has a 16 axis machine, he actually has me cut 3 axis work for him as he charges himself too much :). What type of part is it?
PS By the way, I'm going to run a few of these while I'm at it in case any body needs one.

[ot]Hey Dubliner, we (D1 and I) were just talking about you and your CNC machine.  I was at my buddy's machine shop last week, wanting a part made.  He said his CNC machine is only 3 axes, if I understand him correctly, and this project can't be done on 3-axes.  It has too many curvature details, in my understanding.

Does yours happen to do 4 axes?? [/ot]

Excellent!  I happen to have a cnc machine in my garage and I'll make one, by any chance would anybody have a vector drawing of that tri-bracket by chance. I can't see the measurements vey well. Bit of trial and error I guess. Great stuff guys, thank you.

Here, check this out: You are not the first one to have to deal with this...http://www.vulcandrifterriders.com/tbracket.html

Yes there's one hole for the peg and a rubber insert hole for the pipe it came with, (it's just a 2 inch straight piece welded onto exhaust pipe. ). So short of making a bracket that transitions from the one frame hole to the two V&H bracket holes, would anybody know what is missing?  My much sought after RS bracket is giving me a headache.

How many holes in the foot peg bracket? Just 1? Does that one hole have a rubber insert? If yes, then you have the much sought after r/s classic bracket with the rubber mount. The Drifter has a dual bolt bracket that lines up with the V&H mounting, but mounts the pipes without insulation.....The original exhaust has a long, rubber mounted bracket/support for the stock muffler, and uses/needs a rigid mount at the foot peg.

Ok, got my new V&H longshots but it came with a black mounting bracket that fits two holes where stok exhaust was. My problem is I didn't have stock on there and the pipes I did have we're only held on by one bolt/bracket that fit onto a hole on the rear foot peg bracket. Any ideas? There's no diagrams with thE V&H so I can't really tell which orientation the bracket should take as it doesn't seem to match up with the single mounting hole on the peg mount. Tia.

Don't forget your tags and registration fees.... You can be sure they want their MONEY too..... :o

Goes without saying......

Dubliner

Well it's the thought that counts, good karma for you BikerBob. :)

Shoot!......I just last week dumped a complete OEM Exhaust!!!!!  I KNEW I should have kept it........someone may need it.....
but I'm such a parts pack-rat I have to thin things out every once in a while. I would have given it up for the shipping cost.
Sorry Dubs.............

Dubliner

Thanks all , I've decided to go with the V&H long shots.

In Indiana they couldn't care less what you run.  You can run straight pipes if you want.  Shoot, if you're over 18 years old, we don't even have helmet laws!  About all they care about is if you have all your lights and a horn!

OK, so TRoll has a stock minus the Cat, would anybody have a cat for sale. I don't want to have to replumb the exhaust. I need a bolt on solution. Thanks all.

Here in southeastern Wisconsin we have mandatory vehicle emission inspection in a limited number of counties. As luck would have it mine is one of them even though I live three blocks from the boundary. So far motorcycles are not required to pass any inspection.

check with Jireh Cycles...............they have all in one fishtails.........also Samson........check with them too. They have a same side fishtail dual setup in 2 1/4" header pipe. Pure straights they are.

Dubliner

According to a very knowledgable friend just told me they're not mandatory in Texas so are you saying that's isn't accurate?

Dubs... Depends on your local for the Goat Bladder... If you're in Cali... Pretty much better have it... Check with your State DMV Inspection Laws to make sure... Here in Pa you don't have to have the stock exhaust as of yet... However they did just pass a new law if you're caught without a valid Inspection Sticker (Any Vehicle) it's an automatic $500.00 fine and 6 months loss of license... Cha-Ching for the State!

You betcha - because you can be sure that 6 month suspension is followed by a REAL healthy reinstatement fee!

Hi guys, do I need the "goat bladder" to pass inspection?  Currently I appear to have almost hollow pipes on my bike but another member has a stock 2-1 exhaust minus the "gb" for sale.

The pipes and tails are all one piece but have no markings that I can find. At least I can follow your solution for the same look though. Doubt I'll find exactly what I have now, and the left side is the same age so I probably should replace both now. I like the 2 into 1 look with a fishtail, do you know who makes that?

David Baker

Those tails look similar to mine, Mine are Vance & Hines that I adapted to my Cobra pipes, I got them off Ebay, Do your tips slip into the pipes? If they are Vance & Hines you should be able to get them through their site or at least you'll know what to search for on the Ol' InterWeb, Hope this helps. Bake

Not knowing what brand they are, I'd say try J&P Cycles. They might have something.
