Yea, I figured that is what you would have to do.

I ended up just ordering a whole new assembly from a dealer.

Thanks!

I just looked at the drawings. I see some o-rings and packing with part numbers, but that's about it. No rebuild kits or diaphram for that matter.

go to kawasaki.com, accessories, motorcycle, select you model and get into the parts for the fuel tank.

http://www.kawasaki.com/DefaultFrame.aspx?strContentURL=/Site/VIVehicleInformation/VIepc.asp?intCatalogID%3d2%26CatalogTypeID%3d4%26ProductTypeID%3d63%26ModelMarketingId%3d222%26ModelYear%3d2002%26SHOWVEHTABS%3d1

This url might get you there.

Cheers.

Isn't it built into the tank on the 800?

Your best bet is to get the part numbers from buykawasaki.com or any oem parts place and order through one of the discount oem parts places... like ronayers.com etc. You can find oem parts vendors in the website accessories page, under dealers and vendors.

I can get the entire petcock assembly for like $61 from my local parts guy.  I was hoping for just a rebuild kit.  I took it apart and it looks like it might need the new diaphragm.
