Valve Question

Ratman always nice to save on shop costs,brother!Sounds like this guy's break,may just have become yours when it comes to labor cost at a shop.I watched a video on the valve adjustment awhile back on youtube,definately not an engine out job but,the valve cover nearest the seat looked tricky.This kind of job would be beyond my skill level so I would have to contract this job out ???Keep us posted and let us know how this pan out

ah glad you can translate for me 45, how have you been doing?

Went to the dealer today, and the mechanic was on a break so I got a chance to talk to him, and of course having been married for 15 years before my sentence was shorten for good behaviour, I took a Timmies double double large for him....and he will be home Friday because he is only working 4 days a week right now, so he suggested I just happen to be riding past his place on Friday afternoon and he will listen and see what he thinks save me shop hours.....

 Well been told it is not an engine out job, it is a two to three hour job and the rear is tight but can be done with the engine in. But I'll check again. PC you are always a wealth of information and help.

Just to add it is a valve adjustment, not replacment oranything just the adjustment.

That's usually an engine out job..you have to be pretty fit or desparate to tackle that..I wouldn't do it..if I had to take the engine out to do something else I would do it but otherwise I would forget it.

  ok the books say the valves should be done at 15 and 30,000, so I am at 27+ and am wonder if I wait till later in the year or do it now? How does one tell if they need to be done. Just thinking out loud, nothing is indicating to me to do it just wondering outloud. Thanks.
