yup if your talking about the caps covering the allen heads, then a small really fine flat tip screwdriver......

I'm not sure what end caps you're referring to??  My 800 has stainless caps on almost every allen-head bolt on the bike, from the PO.  I use a real small screwdriver to pry them off.  It also has chrome covers on the front axle- both ends.  They are held in place with a very small allen-head set screw accessed from underneath.  Hope that helps.  If not describe  yours or post a pic.
