Thanks troll

From what i can find 2.75 is standard for a 120/80 but it should go on up to a 3 in just fine

Front wheel is 3.00", rear is 3.5"

I've ran a car tire on several bikes for years, just havent had the need for a tire on the drifter yet (had some kind of avon on it that got me 10k plus whatever previous owner put on it and still at 4/32)

It should only drop it .8 inches because the diameter not the radius is only 1.6 shorter

Does anyone know how wide the front rim is, if so i can check to see if the 120 i have falls withing that width, if so it should be a problem at all.

Im looking at using the tire i have maninly because i have it already and have had great experience with them on sport/touring bikes. Nothing i see in 130/90 do i really care for

I thought about the shinko 777 for up front, ive ran them on sport bikes and i know their origins so i have no worries about them either

In response to your "don't crap on my thread" concerning running car tires, that's your call. I won't run a car tire on my own, other than on the Beast.(my trike) That being said, I know a fellow up here who has run car tires on the back of his 'Wings for years; he says the only negative (short-lived) is the feeling of the bike "shifting" a bit as he leans into a corner. He gets around 30,000 miles on a tire versus 6-7000 miles on the recommended bike tire.

Further to Jmbo's response, with a narrower tire, you stand a much greater chance of breaking the bead under load, such as in cornering, than with a stock rim.

Yes, if your dimensions are correct. you should drop about an inch and a half.  Not exactly "in da weeds" but that's you call. As far as fitting your rim, the 130 rim is typically wider than a 120 rim. You might have tough time expanding the narrower tire on the wider rim especially without a tube.

Just had a blowout on the back of my bike yesterday (tube went) and decided its time for an upgrade.

And before you read any further Please do not crap on my thread. I have done all of these things before and i dont wanna start an argument about whats safe and blah blah blah because everyone has their own opinions on darkside and sealed wheels and i dont need to hear them again, sorry.

I've ran darkside before and already ordered a car tire last night. Im going to be sealing the wheels with 3m 5200 to run tubeless.

So the back is taken care of with a 195/55-16 CT

The front however that came on my bike  is a 130/90-16. I happen to have a brand new pirelli sport demon in my garage (from an old bike build) that is a 120/80/16.

The different in the tires are

Specification  Sidewall  Radius  Diameter  Circumference  Revs/Mile  Difference
130/90-16         4.6in  12.6in    25.2in         79.2in        800        0.0%
120/80-16         3.8in  11.8in    23.6in         74.0in        856       -6.6%

I have lowered my bike several inches in the rear already with some 10.5 shocks (and again please no crapping, been running it a year, the driveshaft is more level than stock, blah blah blah)

So i know the rake/trail already sint what Kawasaki had in mind.

So what im wondering is since in theory the shorter tire would help that issue out even further, will the 120/80-16 fit on my stock front wheel.
