The Kawa is the best payable model to.  If you buy an Indian now you need a lot of money.  A Kawa is too cheap in Americano's eyes.  8)

Yeah, I hear you... no 800, at least for a few years, but the nice thing is they look identical, except for paint, and no kick starter on the 800. I almost never use the button, it spoils the "look", besides, it starts so easily, you could do it with your hand. As far as the Indi-clones, all I see are softails, some aren't even well disguised.

I want the W800, but we will probably never see one. :'(

Now back to the orginal post, so far the "latest Indian Clones" just are not do it for me, Seems to be starting to look somewhat like the Victories to me.

I think of all the Indian clones, and thats any so called "Indian" built after 1953. Kawasaki has the best and most dependable. The one exception I would have to make is the Kiwi. I wish I could justify the cash for one of those beauties!!

Hey Troll would that be the W1 or the W650?

Best Indian ever made...maybe so. I like it...and I've also got the best British sporting twin ever made, it's also a Kawasaki...Now all we need is for the big "K" to build the best H-D...Oh wait, S&S  is already doing that...

Today I was walking around the Laconia, NH Weirs Beach Bike Week area sitting in 200 bike  traffic jams now and then with nervous Harley owners feeling the heat as their air cooled engines fried the oil under their butts.

I ran into the Indian showroom.  It's a chrome boilerplate semi trailer that opens sideways with all the bikes under a canopy just in front of the open trailer.  Quite impressive.  I was looking at about 8 wonderful 'spare no artwork expense' bikes.  Billet hogged out for headlights!  Full line of the seats and other parts for sale individually too.
So I went up to the desk and asked the man and woman sales people there how they thought Polaris's acquisition of Indian this week will effect the company.  They both agreed that the company would be more solid and the Victory and Indian products would both benefit from the technology synergies.
Then, the woman said, 'maybe now they'll make a bike that a woman can drive; and one that costs less.'  I was floored and asked her if she had driven one.  She can't; just doesn't have long enough legs and arms.  She's ridden on the back and said the ride was good.

I had to ask what they drove.  DRIFTERS!  I held my laughing to a minimum, beaming and telling them about my 2005 1500 and she started telling me about her 800 and he was joining in and we were all having fun there on the group W bench...
Enjoy your rides folks; you've got the best Indian ever made right in your garage,

PS: Never did find Lumper on his lime green drifter! Next year.
