Got the Emgo Beach Bars installed and all is well.

Bars are knurled and fit in the risers perfectly. I had to drill a small hole to mount the right side controls and reroute the cables. The front brake line is at its limit and im a bit OCD so I ordered a short line extender (not yet installed).

I didnt take any pics prior to but here are a couple I took today.

   

Took a few minutes into the first ride with the bars to adjust to them, but changing over set me back in the seat just enough and gives me a more comfortable riding position for sure.

Riding position depends on the beach bars.  I've got a set (I think -38"), of beach bars on my 01 that are really comfortable, with just the exact right amount of pullback for me - sadly I can't remember the make.  I've got a set of 38" Flanders beach bars on my 99, and although I think they look great, and I have got used to them, the riding position is quite a bit forward compared to the set I have on the 01.  The bars on the 01 required some slight cable rerouting but the ones on the 99 didn't require any rerouting.

I tried a set of generic risers, no go for me. Easy return though (amazon).

I'm gonna give these a try. Compared to the stock bars dims, they should have just enough pull back for me. Once I have them I'll update.

At 68" (172cm) im finding that the OEM bars have me sitting a bit farther forward than i would like.

Reading thru posts from years gone by it seems one answer was using risers (Phat II specifically) to bring the bars back a bit. With the maker of these risers long gone, Im wondering if anyone has found and/or is using aftermarket Beach Bars to bring them a bit closer to the rider? Or possibly any other risers that are on the market that will do the same thing?

While the Phat II's may not be readily available, there are other risers which can be used, with and without adapters. And beach bars have always been popular on our bikes.
