This is a good battery and you can get it online, I am currently running in my 2001.

Both my Drifter's came with Yuasa batteries and not sure if they are original or not but they are working fine.....so will stick with them.

GPS is not to get you THERE but rather to get you home from THERE

My 01 came factory equipped with a AGM Furokawa battery.  After 7 years, I replaced it but it was still working fine.

AGM definitely the way to go.

What brand do they sell?  I think Yuasa is the original OEM brand, but there are many others that are fine too.  This is a subject you will often get as many opinions on as replies- there are varied opinions ranging from "a battery is a battery" to "brand and model ABC is the only one to get".

You can get a "good" or "bad" battery in any brand - and many other things affect battery life.  Me, personally, I like to stick with a known brand name, and I prefer the AGM batteries.  I use Interstate mostly myself, but it's more because of my access and price I can get-   Yuasa is a good battery brand as far as I know, too.

No Worries

Bike is at shop--they want to push their battery, so I'm sure they won't give me the kind I need to go shopping around for one. I have the gooseberry 1999 1500 drifter  ty in advance for any help
