Ok so today my speedo cable snapped. So this leaves you without self cancelling signal lights and worse thing it leaves you with out a fuel gauge. I solved all the issues with using my GPS as a speedo and distance counter.......Thought I had a able in Edmonton, but they were out of stock the parts girl called around for me to see if we could find one but after a 2 hour search I said forget it and will try again in another town on the trip home......
can you just get this one? says he ships worldwide: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motion-Pro-37-3-4-in-Speedometer-Cable-05-0081-/311379838871?fits=Make%3AKawasaki%7CModel%3AVulcan+800&hash=item487faf4797:g:PiYAAOSw7aBVEdxP&vxp=mtr

I will wait till I get home and price it out because both those are over $40.00 when you add the shipping fee in to it.Right no the GPS will get me home
If the casing is still good, you can try one of these. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motion-Pro-01-0107-Speedometer-Inner-Wire-Cable-Repair-Kit-50-in-/381505397232?hash=item58d37e61f0:g:9HEAAOSwoudW-uLI&vxp=mtr

Tom not sure which one your talking about but the ebay site is charging shipping to Canada.....
last time I ordered from Partzilla the shipping was almost twice what the item cost......
Are you in Edmonton??
Ah, Edmonton Ontario....thought you were in Alberta.

I believe he's referring to the odometer.
Yes I have a fuel guage.....see the picture...lol
when it shows 150 I start to look for a fuel place, at 200 I am near in a panic....lol....right now been using my GPS and it is working fine.
ok so today ordered a complete new speedo cable, and it was $23.00 so bought it. Should be here Friday by noon.....
Not bad at all. Is that OEM or an aftermarket cable? And did you buy it from a stealership or somewhere else?
That is OEM from the local dealership, the owner was not around so I got to have a easy time of ordering it. The parts person wanted me to buy a universial one, and that was 3 parts the metal inner part, and then the 2 ends...duh and the cost was almost the same, and so why would I do the extra work...duh, undo the old insert the new and done...duh.....

. . . . . using my GPS as a speedo ...
I am certainly glad there are no pics of this. :o
:o note to self, do not forget the cardboard life size cut out to be sent to DC of self in either a speedo or banana hammock......wonder which he would like, seeing as the cut out is both sides.......
