Thanks...not sure what PO means, but this certainly helps. Quiet I don't mind because I take a lot of extended rides at highway speeds and the Cobras make my ears ring! I really don't need to be heard, to be seen ;D

  I have the stock 800 pipes, the PO found them and has given them to me, so I tired them, I can start the bike, and walk around and really not hear it, it is really quiet, it is no wonder he switched to the Roadhouse exhaust system. The Stock is really quiet.

I recently acquired my 2003 800 with big, loud Cobra pipes on it. They look fantastic but are just too loud for me.  I like the look of the original 2 into 1 fishtail, but notice so many people replace them.  I am in the process of trying to get the fishtails but wonder WHY so many have been replaced. How do they sound? Are they whiny or tinny? Are they loud or fairly quiet?  Trying to get anything at all for my beauty that fits is proving to be grueling.  Any guidance is appreciated (but I am pretty determined to fishtail it).
