It looks like Hard Krome still makes pipes for the 800. My 02-800 Has the Hard Krome Double D's on it, The PO installed them. These are pretty loud.

I just purchased the OEM fishtails on EBay because it didn't look like a trade was going to happen and I was anxious to get it done.  Once they arrive and the fishtails are instsalled I will then have the Cobras to sell.  If I was savvy on how to navigate this site I would post pictures of them, but I'm an idiot in this regard. I tried everywhere to find Roadhouse for the 800 but a no-go.  I read a previous post regarding the 800 Classic pipes but I don't like the looks...so quiet fishies for me, I guess.

Hi Motortuna, as I wrote to you before via PM, I'm interested in buying your Cobras.
Please, send me some pics of them.
Thanx

I love my swingin' bike!

Amen. My poor Drifter definitely had a DSPO that couldn't be bothered to keep the bike inside or covered. All kinds of pitting on the Chrome. Luckily I got a good price and want to black the bike out at some point in the future anyway (with red pin-striping). First I have to win the lottery though...

Mine came out of a barn with a broken transmission. Sitting for 4 years, he still owed money on the loan when I bought it....

I recently acquired my 2003 800 with big, loud Cobra pipes on it. They look fantastic but are just too loud for me.  I like the look of the original 2 into 1 fishtail, but notice so many people replace them.  I am in the process of trying to get the fishtails but wonder WHY so many have been replaced. How do they sound? Are they whiny or tinny? Are they loud or fairly quiet?  Trying to get anything at all for my beauty that fits is proving to be grueling.  Any guidance is appreciated (but I am pretty determined to fishtail it).

Which Cobra pipes did your bike come with? I have the stock 2 into 1 fishtail system on my 800 and it's way too quiet for me. I've been looking for a replacement but haven't found anything except for Hard Krome pipes. I'd be more than happy to attempt a swap if at all possible. I'm not sure what kind of time frame you were thinking of though.

Not to hi-jack this thread. but... dose anybody still offer after market pipe for the 800 ? I really am looking for something like the Roadhouse, not to loud, and not quit,

not that I am aware of, but you can use 800 CLASSIC pipes with simple mod.

I was very lucky my PO was a pretty cool dude. he found the exhaust after I bought the bike and gave it to me, only the cost of gas to go and get it.

The roadhouse is what I think of as a nice mellow sound not overly loud and not old person quiet. When I start the bike at 0630 to go to work or head out on a long ride I do not bother the neighbours, and on a long ride with just my beanie helmet I am still ok after a 8 hour ride.

Thanks...not sure what PO means, but this certainly helps. Quiet I don't mind because I take a lot of extended rides at highway speeds and the Cobras make my ears ring! I really don't need to be heard, to be seen ;D

CDNRatMan

I have the stock 800 pipes, the PO found them and has given them to me, so I tired them, I can start the bike, and walk around and really not hear it, it is really quiet, it is no wonder he switched to the Roadhouse exhaust system. The Stock is really quiet.
