Original key blanks are available from Kawasaki but they're expensive - I can't remember how much at this point but too much (even though I bought some  :-\).  I ordered them online somewhere, with a bunch of other OEM parts - to help hide the pain.

I bought one for the 800 at our local Ace hardware.  Anybody that cuts keys may have the right blanks - you should be able to call in advance to see if they have motorcycle blanks. As a backup, the stealership should be able to provide, at somewhere around 2-10X the cost of Ace.

Well I had the same issue and so I walked into Jim's Locksmithing, and showed them the key, they found one that matched copied it and it works really well, so had a second one cut.......oh and at $5.00 it was a deal.

The previous own of my bike only had one key.  I need to have a spare, just in case.  From what I've read so far in various places, people would buy the key blanks and go to a locksmith or Ace hardware store to have them cut.  I checked one site out that used to sell the blanks, but they are down for a while.  Any ideas where the best place is to get the most reasonable key blank?
