Cool!  Wished I knew of them before I ordered the blanks.  Now I just need to have them cut, but that's on the backburner for now.  Dealing with a family health issue.

I got mine from the local(ish) dealer as there wasn't a place in town that had the correct key blanks. A lot of HD blanks, but nothing else. I can't remember exactly what it cost, but I think it was around $9 for the key and having it cut after tax. My bike came with one key, so I didn't have a lot of options.

I have four keys for my kwak but I have a few hundred blanks and was lucky enough to find some that matched, so I was able to cut my own..

I have some blanks but didn't need them. I got multiple keys made at the local locksmith. I had to use a jeweler's file on a couple to get them to work properly. I bought the blanks from Kaw...

Probably not what you're interested in but you can buy the entire lock set (ignition, tank, side cover and steering lock) with keys from Kawasaki.  I know because I've had mine replaced three times, once under warranty when the steering lock broke, in the locked position of course, and twice due to damage caused by thieving pricks who tried to steal the bike.  You can find lock sets on eBay occasionally for quite a bit lower cost than from a dealer.

I bought one for the 800 at our local Ace hardware.  Anybody that cuts keys may have the right blanks - you should be able to call in advance to see if they have motorcycle blanks. As a backup, the stealership should be able to provide, at somewhere around 2-10X the cost of Ace.

I was checking local places for the blanks and no one seemed to have them.  They kind of looked cross-eyed at me like "Why would I have something like that?".

I heard stories about the stealership prices and that's not happening!

Just ordered them on FleaBay.  I have to have separate keys for the ignition and forks, since at some point the ignition was replaced and is not original.  Hopefully a locksmith can cut keys for the fork lock, based on the number on the cylinder.

Original key blanks are available from Kawasaki but they're expensive - I can't remember how much at this point but too much (even though I bought some  ).  I ordered them online somewhere, with a bunch of other OEM parts - to help hide the pain.

  Well I had the same issue and so I walked into Jim's Locksmithing, and showed them the key, they found one that matched copied it and it works really well, so had a second one cut.......oh and at $5.00 it was a deal.

The previous own of my bike only had one key.  I need to have a spare, just in case.  From what I've read so far in various places, people would buy the key blanks and go to a locksmith or Ace hardware store to have them cut.  I checked one site out that used to sell the blanks, but they are down for a while.  Any ideas where the best place is to get the most reasonable key blank?
