if he is looking for a tail light then once I get that box of parts I bought off Kijiji I'll check to see what is in it, I know I got handle bars, grips, licence plate bracket, but the guy selling it said there was a box of parts and he just did not list them all, so once I have it I'll know. The seller is a Trucker and said he does runs this way, and he would call me, and met me at their terminal, but he was gone to the US for about a month so it should be soon he is back.
Maybe Bobster can find someone on the forum with american tail light and a swap could be made? Everyone gets something unique for them that way!
Let us not hijack the "Fire Chief" thread talking about your backend...right over your head...lol......the bikes are the same........
If the fenders are the same, wouldn't the brackets around the outside of the fenders be the same width? I mean, I've seen that the 800's brackets appear to hug the fender the same way the 1500's do, so even though the part numbers will be different because they mount differently, the width around the back should be about the same, shouldn't it?
We could solve this real quick with a pic of the back of your 800 now that you've added the bumperette's to yours Mr. Ratman!
never said the fenders were different........
I thought the rear fenders were the same between the bikes.
......mittico68, don't forget that pc rides a 1500 and their backsides are wider then the 800, in some cases it is not a big difference in others it is huge and wide. Oh on the bike.......
here is what I did for the bumperettes, on my 800.......

I did this to mine and it works really well

Just kiddin...
Anyway, now I wonder if it's possible for me to add those stock "bumperettes" you "over there" already got: I mean, is there room enough with the european taillight?

I couldn't find that chrome tail light thing on any of the UK fiches. I did happen to find an expired Australian eBay auction for a used taillight assembly that did include that piece so maybe it was included on Aussie models?
I looked around, and apparently you can't buy it and the lens that goes with it anymore...
ok mystery solved, that chrome "thingy" is only on the European models, I went to the VDOGUK site and asked, here is the response....
Andy:
the chrome thing is a standard fitting to the rear light of all the Drifters I know of..
I have a spare rear light here with that fitting and my drifter has the same fitting..
I can only assume your previous owner removed the one on your Drifter...
Ii is purely decorative and has no function what I can see. I have thought about removing
mine as the light does look much cleaner without it... but then you need to add a deeper
rubber seal or something to stop water ingress into the light...
Malcolm ......
That's a great looking Bobster! I like it...
Found fiches here (I think): http://www.cornwallkawasaki.co.uk/shop/shop.php?cmd=listmodels&id=2
That taillight thing is cool. Wonder what other goodies they have over there? I'd love a lights switch if there is such a thing (I"v purchased euro-spec light switches for some of my old Hondas).
Anyone know where to find euro spec parts fiches for the Drifter?
