I ride with one on my forks and made the rookie mistake of not zip-tying it properly.  After a 3 hour ride the top of my front fender looks like someone rubbed white paint all over it.  The only way to fix it is to repaint the front fender.  What an idiot!

Same here, Ratman.  I got rid of all the old bags myself, some years back.   ;D

I run a bag there all the time and I've had no problems with that, but I do know the bag can't be very tall or it will rub the top of the fender on bumps and wear through the paint.

Yes it's hard to resist the comments about your bag rubbing, but I'll refrain.... I think Ratman and Drift1 have hammered you enough on that, PC.

Seriously, though, I had a 5" round toolbag on the front of my 800 (I believe they are the same front end).  It made a dull mark in the clearcote on the fender, from hitting the fender, so I took it off last fall.  BUT, I just put progressive springs in the forks, and from what I can tell the ride is a whole lot better.  Still, though, I'm going to re-make the tool bag in  4" size just to make sure.  I liked it on the bike.

See, now there's that language barrier again...I thought ratman was referring to his ex wife as an old bag..not talking about his sack..

John.

I don't see how it could impact much...

I found a bag that would look great below the headlight on my 1500.  Question: Has anyone experienced any problems with interference with airflow to the radiator with a front fender bag?
