I ride with one on my forks and made the rookie mistake of not zip-tying it properly.  After a 3 hour ride the top of my front fender looks like someone rubbed white paint all over it.  The only way to fix it is to repaint the front fender.  What an idiot!

Actually, Todd, You might be surprised what will buff out.  If you're not comfortable trying it yourself, at least stop by your favorite body shop, they could tell you for sure.

I don't have a bag since the divorce so I would not know.........sorry it had to come out.......

Same here, Ratman.  I got rid of all the old bags myself, some years back.

  yes Laird John you have it right..........go to the store to buy stuff, when the checkout person asks if you would like a bag, I normally say no thanks I divorced her.....or no she is in the truck waiting........and then the killer eyes come out .....lol.....

Yes it's hard to resist the comments about your bag rubbing, but I'll refrain.... I think Ratman and Drift1 have hammered you enough on that, PC.

Seriously, though, I had a 5" round toolbag on the front of my 800 (I believe they are the same front end).  It made a dull mark in the clearcote on the fender, from hitting the fender, so I took it off last fall.  BUT, I just put progressive springs in the forks, and from what I can tell the ride is a whole lot better.  Still, though, I'm going to re-make the tool bag in  4" size just to make sure.  I liked it on the bike.

I found a bag that would look great below the headlight on my 1500.  Question: Has anyone experienced any problems with interference with airflow to the radiator with a front fender bag?
