Aclone, how did you mount the 4 caddy lights?  Did you mount them directly to the hard bags?  If so, that won't work for me, as I don't have hard bags.  I like the 4 lights, but I need to figure out a way to use the stock mounting positions, or something of that nature.  can you post a pic?

No Worries

Kept the seams on the bottom or where I could hide them.  The only seams you could see were around the lock hid those with black caulk.  The spray sets up way to fast,  you need to pull and work the leather.

The leather I bought off e bay  I thinks its a 2 or 3  the lighter the better.  You use  clear silicone caulk  and  squeegee the extra caulk out
it take some time but well worth about 70% less than the mustang bags.  The frame is custom and the rear seat is from a early harley. The tour pack I also covered and made the rack for it.

Mark, would you reccomend silicone over the spray adhesives? How difficult was it to get the end  seam to stay down?...where did you put it?..the seam i mean. any special surface prep?,..or about like prepping for paint?

Aclone,

Thanks for the reply. Looks very nice, I like it!       Hope you don't mind a few questions?

Where did you get the leather to cover them? how thick is it,& how difficult was it to do? I'm interested in a tan leather, and perhaps just a few spots.

Is that a F&S luggage rack, with a seat mounted to it?

These are old buco's I bought on ebay.  Old style hard fiberglass easy to work with, added the caddy lights and wrapped them in leather.
Dave has a pair that are body colar on his.  They hold a lot  and keep whats in them dry.  Had to make my own mounting brackets.

How many of you have 'hard' saddlebags on your Drifter? What size, type, brand ?......any pictures?

I currently have a set of B&B reproduction 'bubble' bags. Like them...love the look, but they are medium? in size.

Thinking about trying an old set of Bates bags that I have, maybe cover them in leather?

I have a set of, and thought Nomad bags, but don't want it to look like another Nomad when when finished!

Just thought I'd ask......Ron
