My old Uncle Elgie always told me to start with the simple shit first... you can always screw up the complicated stuff later on if you like... !  ;)

Good news..it was the positive battery cable, it was lose. Lucky thing! I was back up and drifting down the road this afternoon.
thanks for your help!

I was going to suggest getting the trouble codes.

I have an '01 1500 Drifter factory service manual if you need any help.  I don't know a lot about these bikes as I just got mine a couple of months ago, but I can read real good ;)

I've got a scanner too, but I'm not sure if it still works.  If you need to see a couple of pages from my manual I'll see if I can get the scanner going.

Thanks for your replay.. Had to leave it at my sisters..but all the fuses appeared ok. I am going to check it more closely today. I read about a few things on the net and the book shows how to get the trouble codes from the computer. I'm hoping its a short somewhere.

Are all the wiring connections tight?  All the fuses good?

Hi Newbie Drifter here.. I got a 1999 1500 in June. Love this bike, no problems until Xmas day.. While Driving to my sisters house about an hour away, I get to within 2 miles and suddenly the all the lights on speedometer flash on and it cuts out, they go off and the bike is ok.. about another hundred or so feet the flash on again and stay on, the bike cuts off and I glide to a stop. When I turn it on, no lights come on and it doesnt even try to start.. I have the book and reading through the EFI troubleshooting as I think its probably electrical related, Oil looks fine and plenty of gas. Anyone experianced anything like this and can point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
