Was riding on a city street on Sunday about 25mph and didn't see a manhole cover about 2" lower than the pavement. I hit the hole and " POP POP POP ...." my exhaust note changed dramatically. The impact broke the exhaust pipe off where the rear pipe joins the muffler. Rode it home ,took it apart ,matched the two together and mig welded it back together. There is a lot of strain at that point because of the design. The front pipe slides in at the muffler bottom but the rear is welded solid at the mufflers top. It must have been working back and forth and finally let go.
