Do nat believe any Drifter came with a Tach from the factory. Do you have a Pic of your dash setup?

You can download an owner's manual directly from Kawasaki... look at this for the info...

No Drifters came with that dash setup... Tach/Speedo. The fuel gage in integrated into the Drifter Speedo - along with the FI, oil and low fuel leds. I haven't heard of a replacement for the speedo - but Drifters are ingenius and someone may have replaced the unit... don't know how!! We all are very interested in finding out if this is some sort of custom setup. Please take a couple of pictures.

Sounds like there has been some custom instrumentation installed. As delivered, a '99 had a mechanical speedo, no tach, and a fuel gauge, as well as idiot lights....errr...indicator lights

Well I went to see it and bought it, paid $4350, has just under 6K miles. Seems to fit me just right, can flat foot it, so I feel more in control. It has a custom flame paint job, pro done, looks quite good. The back turn signals are broken, he said that is common and there are after market replacements that work better, would love to know about them. The front signals have been removed and no wires are in sight, it does have the 2  small headlights on each side of the big one, with a switch right behind the one on the right. And yes the pipes are loud, but I feel kind of macho like a Harley guy 8)

Well, by description it sounds like you've done well. low Mi, & really decent price. Call the guy & ask, maybe he has the front turn-signals?

Shouldn't have trouble though, finding what you need.........how'bout some pics? ;D

yes on the Main web site you will find the information you seek.  I would love to see photos of your ride. 5800 miles it's barely broke in. There is much knowledge here, ask a question and someone will have the answer you're looking for. I too never got a owners manual or tool kit. This site is my owners manual. I also believe you got a great deal. enjoy your ride.

By the way there was no owners manual or tool kit. Any info on oil filter pn's that fit. Is there a place on the site were tech stuff is listed?

steveleibo

There seems to be some kind of rubber mount inside the tail light brackets, thats were both of them are busted. Can you still get them at Kawasaki?

Broken rear tail lights aren't "common"... but they can be replaced. Nice catch... make some pics!

I am looking at a 99 1500 with 5800 miles, it has a custom flame paint job and V&H long pipes, they stick out to the back of the bike. Are they loud?
It seems like evryone enjoys their bike. Are there any certain things to look out for? The owner is asking $4450 seems fais, what do you think?  :)
