Headlight doesn't come on...

Great! Thanks, Troll. I've only had one bike to compare it to and I guess I never noticed whether or not this one came on until now.

The headlight come on once the engine is running and not before. The charging system sends a signal to the relay to turn it on. If the headlight came on with the ign. on but the engine off, you would have a problem.

Well, it does when the bike is running but not when the ignition is turned to the on position.

Long story but the important points are; I was replacing a blown taillight bulbsomehow I must have shorted something (can't find anything) but the taillights and headlights went out. Checked all of the fuses and replaced the headlight fuse. The others were good.

Turned the key to on and the taillights come on fine but the headlights and lightbar do not. If I start the bike the headlight works fine. I've only had the bike for 2 weeks but I'm pretty sure the headlight is supposed to come on with ignition in the on position.
