When I put V & H Nomad pipes with 100mm round mufflers on my '99 , I kept the same ground clearance to the bottom of the muffler .

However they now scrape on roundabouts and I have to periodically replace the 2 outside Allen key retainer nuts .

The original right muffler being Oval didn't scrape at the 3:00-5:00 o'clock position, but the arc of the round muffler does,  because it is closer to the ground - in the US it would be my left muffler scraping on roundabouts.

Just a heads up .  :-[

My bad....I didn't read your post correctly....I have not been able to locate the other brackets....I will be back out at my research farm (where all my spare parts are) this weekend to clean up some stuff as the farm is being sold....hopefully I will find them.  If not, I will take some photos of the ones on my bike and some measurements.  Any decent fab shop can cut them out fairly easily....

Thanks OR seedman. I was so excited to get my rig up and running and drove it almost 3 K miles this summer. Riding season is over for me as mutha nature is giving me the cold shoulder. LOL.  I was wondering if you found the dual exhaust mounts you referenced. Please let me know. I'd like to get this part done while it sleeps for the winter and early spring here

Thank you

You need to relocate the rectifier to the front under the radiator with different bracket and remove the goat bladder as well. I actually used some custom made brackets that I had designed for the stock Nomad exhaust to mount my V&H longshots as a dual set but I had to cut them down to make them work with the side mounts on the pipes.  If you have Nomad exhaust with the top mounts, you will need to fabricate some brackets to attach them to.  Mine were mounted between the rear floorboards and the frame using slightly longer bolts.  I may still have the brackets that I had made....I will check and see later this week as they are out at a different location.  Otherwise, you will need to have some fabricated.

Well it finally time to get my 1999 Drifter 1500 up and running. I need to find out what is needed to install the vance & Hines dual exhaust I purchased from a Nomad. I know I have to purchase a right rear peg from a classic, I know there are other mounts but don't know how to aquifer them. I do remember seeing a drawing of a bracket but now can't find it, Please help, thank you

Ive been away due to taking care of several family members who have left this world, Now I have to get back to it.
