I forgot to post an update on this topic.

The fuel pressure regulator has now been replaced with a standard 3.0 bar unit and the associated rubber hoses.

Now I need to find a solution to the fuel gauge dropping from "full" to "empty" even though there is still enough fuel.

I am currently testing a solution. More info here:

Hi all,

A quick question about the fuel pressure regulator for the 1500 (2001 model).

The previous owner had the pressure regulator replaced because the original part had problems.

He had the part replaced with this one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/144760623176

The item description states:
'Fuel pressure regulator with increased operating pressure up to 3.5 bar (350kpa)'.

While the service manual says:

Quote

Pressure regulator
Regulated fuel pressure: 294 ± 4.9 kPa

What are the pros and cons of a 350 kPa pressure regulator?
The rest of the bike is completely stock, including the air filter and exhaust system.

I might know the answer to one of the cons: higher fuel consumption. The mileage on my 1500 seems to be pretty poor at the moment.

Is there anything else I need to be aware of?

Do you recommend replacing the pressure regulator with a standard 3.0 bar one like the following?

Thank you in advance.
