Just wanted to tell Chief thanks for a well-run forum and all the good info I received here when I posted.  I'll miss the 800, but it was just not the bike I needed for long-distance travels.  Even after I changed gearing, I could only travel 200 miles tops between fill-ups, and that just isn't enough in my sometime 700 mile day riding.  I want to get back out there on Route 66 again so I may look for another Concours 1000.  That 7.5 gal. tank and good seating position make it a winner for my back.  Thanks for all the help.  Mike in Texas  (emjayw)
