Ignition relocation

Thanks to you both.

I had downloaded that sheet, Chief, and read a few other articles on doing this. My "confusion" stems from the fact that Drag Specialties seems to make several these with varying prices and they all look the same to me. Clearly, there must be some difference, but it's not clear on the site, other than to list which Harleys they fit.

I will post if I decide to go ahead. At these prices and with the canadian dollar being in the toilet, I will likely live with what I have.

FYI - We have a mod sheet for using a HD style ignition switch. Note the switch used in the mod is likely no longer available.

Also, over the years we have had reports of problems with mods/ignition switches like this. Some members have reverted back to the original switch. You may find some posts on this doing a search.

Please let us know how it goes for you if you do this mod. A write-up and pics would be useful to other members. I may do this mod myself to update the mod sheets.

It looks exactly like the one I put on ma-deuce, when I did the relocation mod.
But now that's waaay much more expensive!

In 1999, when I had my brand new Drifter, I installed the ignition re-locate to the plate on the gas tank. I seem to recall that, back then, I ordered a plug and play switch and it came with the necessary plate.

Fast forward to the present. I would like to do the same on my current 1500 1999 Drifter. I've read the threads here on doing it and I have found this switch on Ebay

The thing is that Drag Specialties, who makes this one, seems to make several. Some cost a lot more than this one and I can't see the difference.

Can anyone confirm that the one that I have linked to will do the job - always with the proviso that I need to solder in the 100 ohm?
