The top link shared by what_the?! are the engine guards I purchased from motorsloopbg only mine are black powder coated. My 1999 Drifter had the holes on either side of the frame to mount them at the top.

On our FB page Todd provided a picture of an engine guard which fits much differently than the cobra and other versions I've seen. This one fits upside down with different mounting points.

Motorsloop BE  has a facebook page and ebay stores.

One of the links from OP is for the Motorsloop ebay store in  AU. That bar has upper connection tabs which doesn't look like it will work on the Drifter.

I have a Lindby Multibar on my 1500 and chaps in both color schemes (brown and black) for colder weather riding.  I really like the look and the upper footrests are functional for when I get a cramp in my hips (happens more often as I get older) while riding.  sturdy and nice quality chrome.  I don't see them very often on other bikes, though.  the chaps are from Sage Brush Designs....well made

Motorsloop in Belgium sells crashbars specifically for the 800 and 1500 Drifters. Great people to deal with.

I can't find the direct link for the mo, but the URL will take you to their ebay shop; you can contanct them though that.

Guido at motorsloop knows his Drifter stuff, so address any comms to him.

I don't know if either would work because of the upper bolting points. Many sellers misidentify Drifter products, unfortunately.

The first guard appears to need a bolt hole on either side of the frame. There are no bolt holes in the frame in that area on my bike. The second is showing two different guards. The tabs are oriented properly on one, but I have no idea if they are aligned to connect to anything. And who knows which they are actually selling.

Remembering I have a 2002 NA 1500... look at the connection points. Mine has one top central plate which connects to the frame at the top and with two lower connect points, one on either side of the frame.

Have a look at your frame and see if there are connection points to match the top tabs on the chinese versions they are selling. There are two connection points holding the plastic covers, which ultimately attach to the frame on either side of the top plate. I don't know if the bolt holes behind will line up with the tabs on the guards you show. Can't tell the distance between. Perhaps the seller(s) can give you a center to center distance to see if those tabs will align with the upper frame connection points.

The F&S original accessory part number for the black engine guard is K32000-036. I have a chrome version of the Cobra bar for an 800. I don't know if it will fit a 1500. I will try and fit it to mine when I get a chance, but as you indicated, shipping would likely be prohibitive. There are other shapes and styles which would work as long as the connection points are accurate. Lindby makes one and sells through jpcycles, dennis kirk, etc.
