My name is Antonio, I'm from Spain and I bought a 800 Drifter 1999 with 8500 km imported from Germany.

The bike is Perferct, but has great speed, from first to third gear the bike is set to 120km / h, but on fourth and fifth gear does not exceed 140 km / h .

Here many bikes are limited, I have mounted a Vulcan 800 and ran as limited.

Do you know how I know if this limited? Any suggestions? Is it something to carburetor? Do you know if the German bikes are limited in any way?

Anything you can say I will be very happy.

Thank you very much and best regards.

yes some bikes are 34 PS (Horse Power) the orginal 54 PS. You have to take the cuborator of, then you see a plate, this you take away, then you have the full horse power. Way ?. because is a differenze for the insurance  company. 34 les money, full power more money.

Sí, algunas motocicletas tienen en eso una barrera. Era de causas de seguro. Tú must el carburador se debilitan luego ves una placa que quitan y montan de nuevo. Luego tienes la fuerza llena.

Could be a governor on the injectors, but I've not heard of this before.

We have a couple of German members on this site.  Maybe contacting them would be a good place to start?

There are Rev limiters to protect the engine.

I can't tell you if there are speed limiters on european bikes, however.

Cheers and Merry Christmas
