Sorry to hear it, best wishes for a quick recovery!!

The last bike I had a problem on, had engine guards. The floorboards, rounded guards and heavy high topped boots saved my leg.

MY BIKE WAS R0DE HOME BY MY NEIGHBOR WITH MINOR DAMAGE.
I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING, I JUST SLAMMED ON BOTH BRAKES AT ABOUT 50MPH, THEN THE BIG 1500 FELL ON TOP OF MY RIGHT ANKLE.

LOOKS LIKE I WONT BE RIDING FOR ABOUT 9-10 MONTHS.

I HAVE 21/2  MONTHS WITH THE CAST, THEN PHYSICAL THERAPY FOR MONTHS TO FOLLOW.
THE STEEL PLATE AND SCREWS STAY IN MY ANKLE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!

Wow! that sucks! hope the road to recovery is not too long or painful; people need to pay (alot) more attention to the world around them; life would be much better for those around them!! Best of luck on your recovery; (and getting your bike back up and on the road)
Regards, 49Reo  :)

Oh man!  OUCH!

Sorry to hear of the "incident".  Cagers do tend to not watch for bikers as much as they should.  I remember the feeling of vulnerability I first felt when I learned to ride, and again when I relearned.  I try to remember that felling as it serves as a great caution to my brave heart & silly head when riding.  I sometimes wish all the cagers could feel that feeling, then maybe they'd pay us a bit more attention.

Hope you get to feeling better soon......and hang on to that wife, she's a keeper!

Glad to here you are OK, except for some broken bones. How is the bike?? Our worst enemies on the road (CARS). they feel safe inside the box, to bad they don't watch for those of us who ride outside the box. I've had two co-workers killed while riding. One claimed he didn't hear or see him(Load Pipes save Lives). The other was hit from behind. So get well so you can get back in the saddle, again glad to hear you're ok.

I HAD TO SLAM ON BRAKES WHEN SOME ONE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME,
DROPPED THE BIG 1500 DRIFTER ON MY RIGHT ANKLE...
RESULT WAS 3 BROKEN BONES ON MY ANKLE, HAD SURGERY ON WEDNESDAY

THEY PUT 8 STAINLESS STEEL SCREWS AND ONE STAINLESS STEEL PLATE ON MY RIGHT ANKLE TO REPAIR IT, I WILL NOT BE RIDING FOR MONTHS.

I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE MY CAR SINCE I HAVE A HUGE CAST ON MY RIGHT LEG.

THANK GOD I HAVE A GOOD WIFE TAKING CARE OF ME.
